KL Forest Eco Park, a forest in the middle of Kuala Lumpur city

KL Eco Forest, formerly named Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, is a beautiful and quiet forest smack bang in the middle of the busy Kuala Lumpur city. Covering 9.37 hectares, it’s one of the oldest protected jungles in Malaysia (1906).

How to get here?

It’s only a 10 minute walk from Raja Chulan Monorail Station. Walk West down Jalan Raja Chulan. Keep on walking past the Shell Gas Station and stay on the right hand side of the road.

You’ll then arrive at these big wooden arches that say “Taman Eco Rimba KL”

Walk through the gates and up the stairs then turn directly to your left and you’ll see a sign that says “This way to Forest Park”.

Keep on walking along the path until you see this “Canopy Walk” sign.

I’ve read reports online that people have bought tickets to do the canopy walk but you definitely don’t need to do that. It’s absolutely free.

There are also kilometres of walks inside the park and butterflies everywhere 🙂
